The Scammer by Tiffany D. JacksonMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Let’s just start with the obvious — this cover is gorgeous. It looked just as good on my Kindle as it does sitting pretty on my bookshelf. But honestly, Tiffany D. Jackson could slap her name on a napkin and I’d read it. She’s one of those authors who never disappoints, and The Scammer proved that again.
The character development between Jordyn and Nick was top-tier. Tiffany gives you just enough to stay curious, pulling back the layers piece by piece until you need to know more. Nick, especially, was my favorite — Southern charm, real growth, and all-around solid storytelling. Now Devante… whew. That character almost made me close the book (and if you’re listening on Audible, brace yourself even more).
I won’t spoil anything, but the plot twist had me sitting there like, “Okay!!!” I knew it was coming — Tiffany always brings the heat — but still wasn’t ready. The book had me frustrated, yelling “I know they not…” more than once, then reminding myself, oh right, this is YA.
The pacing? Perfect. The suspense? Unrelenting. And the ending? No complaints — it left me full and satisfied.
If you like good books with tension, heart, and layered characters, read it. Just know, a few parts might trigger you or have you clutching your Kindle like I did. Tiffany D. Jackson stays undefeated in my eyes.
