⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | A Sky Full of Love – Lorna Lewis
I picked up A Sky Full of Love after a book influencer I follow on Instagram mentioned it and shared a bit of the plot. That was enough to make me curious. I’d never read anything by Lorna Lewis before, so I went in with an open mind and no real expectations.
I connected most with Nova, the main character. Watching her do the hard work to heal from deep trauma — not only from being kidnapped and held for 15 years, but also from the betrayal of people she loved and trusted — was powerful. Her journey felt raw, painful, and real.
Leah, on the other hand, frustrated me to no end. Her insecurities, selfishness, and jealousy irritated me throughout the book. Honestly, I was baffled by how she could be a therapist when she clearly needed one herself.
What really stood out was how every relationship was tested — mother and daughter, marriage, siblings, friendships. No one escaped unscathed. The book dives into heavy themes like childhood trauma, therapy, forgiveness, grief, and what healing actually looks like when it’s messy and uncomfortable.
The ending was a nice, happy one (no spoilers), and everything worked out in a way that felt satisfying.
As for the writing style — it wasn’t my favorite. I’m not big on overly descriptive skies or repetitive reminders of what happened in the previous chapter. Those moments made parts of the story drag a bit. That said, it wasn’t bad enough to pull me out of the book, and I was able to push through.
When I finished, what stuck with me most was this idea: it really does take a village — and when that village is willing to do the work, healing is possible.
Overall, I’d recommend this book. Despite a few pacing issues, it was an emotional, thoughtful, and ultimately rewarding read.
