Dear Readers,
This has to be one of the shortest books I’ve ever read, but not one recommendation could’ve prepared me for Andrew.
This book gave CRAZY. DERANGED. UNHINGED. The entire time I kept thinking: what did I just read? Because seriously, Octavia Grant has a screw loose somewhere where it shouldn’t be, and I mean that as a compliment.
Were there other characters? Technically yes. But honestly, besides Andrew, did anybody else really exist? He consumed every page. Every interaction. Every thought. The novella felt like being trapped inside somebody’s obsession while watching it spiral completely out of control.
This story highlights psychopathy, delusion, obsession, murder, and suicide in the most chaotic way possible. And because the pacing is so fast, there’s barely time to process one insane moment before another one smacks you in the face. I finished this in about an hour and a half and sat there afterward trying to gather myself.
The biggest lesson I took from this book? Be careful how nice you are to the boy bagging your groceries.
Honestly, this was such a good read. Quick, disturbing, entertaining, and the perfect palate cleanser before starting another book. If you like thrillers that feel completely unhinged from beginning to end, this one is worth picking up.
From Love,
The Letters
